Course Description: Development of English as a Second Language, emphases on auditory comprehension, Oral Communication and Cultural diversity developed through children’s literature integrating technology and electronics means.

Objectives:

General
1. By the end of the year, students will listen to and use language effectively to interact verbally/non-verbally in different environments.
2. Write Basic English Structure.
3. Read simple text.
4. Demonstrate an appreciation of the value of English as a means of communication for personal; academic and professional purposes.

Performance Standard:
1.Respond to commands, instructions, statements and questions.
2.Responds verbally to questions involving self-identity or information related to home, school and community and accepts cultural differences.

3.Copies words, phrases, and sentences written in English.
4.Write words, phrases, and sentences using writing conventions.

7.Identifies and describes settings main characters, main events, and plot in stories.
8. Identifies the structure in poetry (e.g. pattern books, predictable books, nursery rhymes).
9.Reads to enjoy, appreciate and obtain information.

Autobiografia

Tilsa M. Trinidad Ayala

Mi nombre es Tilsa M. Trinidad Ayala, nací en el pueblo de Río Grande Puerto Rico. Hija De Luz Delia Ayala y Efraín Trinidad. Nací el 31 de julio de 1966. Soy la numero cinco de mis quince hermanos. Asistí a la escuela elemental en Puerto Rico desde primero hasta el segundo grado. En el 1972 mi familia se mudo a Santa Cruz Islas Vírgenes donde estudie desde tercer grado hasta el cuarto Año. A los 18 años cuando me gradué de cuarto año regrese a Puerto Rico para estudiar en la universidad. A los 20 años mientras estudiaba la carrera de maestra enliste en el ejército de los Estados Unidos, todo me iba bien hasta que en el 1991 me activaron para guerra del Golfo Pérsico de Arabia. Allí por poco pierdo la vida pero gracias al señor no me paso nada. Después de 9 largos meses pude regresar a Puerto Rico a terminar mis estudios. Termine los estudios de maestra de educación elemental en el 1992. Ese mismo año comencé a trabajar como maestra de Ingles Lo cual me motivo a seguir estudiando hasta que termine Inglés Elemental e Inglés Intermedio y superior. Trabaje aproximadamente 8 años antes de comenzar mi maestría en currículo de cuarto a sexto y otra en supervisión y administración. En el 2003 me gradúe de la academia de la policía y actualmente llevo 5 año en ese cuerpo. En el 2007 decido enlistarme en el State Guard de Puerto Rico donde comencé con el rango de sargento y luego de asistir a un instituto militar y graduarme con el promedio más alto de clase con un 99% fui promocionada al rango de 2do Teniente. Actualmente llevo 12 años trabajando en la escuela Vicente Escobar López donde me desempeño como maestra de Ingles de Kinder a segundo grado.
